- Polymer electrolyte
This does not need to be filled and is therefore always ready to use. Due to its extremely rugged design, it withstands pressure better. The fact that the electrolyte is a polymer considerably reduces contamination of the electrode, thus guaranteeing reliable pH measurements every day.
- "Open" junction = exposes the whole reference electrolyte to the exterior.
This is only possible because the electrolyte is solid (polymer). The advantage of this sort of junction lies in the fact that it is relatively unaffected by clogging, thus reducing the number of measurement errors linked to such phenomena.
